In this classic comedy from producer Hal Roach, a young innocent in Hollywood enlists a publicist's help in her search for stardom. Small-town gas station owner Joe Jenkins (Jack Haley) travels to Hollywood to make all the connections necessary for his sweetheart, Cecilia Moore (Rosina Lawrence), to realize her dreams and become a star. But a case of "camera fright" and the romantic overtures of a matinee idol threaten to thwart Joe's plans.
