Description

In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium – but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Matt Damon) agrees to take on a life-threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

  • What’s wrong with Jodie Foster?

The movie is ok, not great but worth the watch. The graphics are good, the story line is a little preachy but that can be ignored. The thing that can’t be ignored is whatever accent Jodie Foster is trying to use. It’s like a bad mix of Canadian, Scottish, and South Carolina. Just a tip, if you mute her voice during the movie, you still can follow the plot and it will be more enjoyable.
  • visually stunning, very cliche and to scale

Elysium was kinda worth the wait because right after Neil Blompkamp directed the most brutal film in history District 9 which i praised itself for being a mix of a documentary and blair witch style found footage style that what makes District 9 so classic and brutal for the most part, sure it's disturbing, yucky and to intense but District 9 is a message to all that Aliens are not whom they seem to be. But Elysium was some kind of art project that Neil Blompkamp wanted to share to the audience because you know what Blompkamp has style and form to direct films. The film follows a wasted, overpopulated post-apocalyptic verison of Earth in the year 2154 which were humans are divided and riddled with sadness and depression on earth that some of the world is dust. Then we get introduced to the other world planet Elysium the humans are living in a stylized world in which there's no violence, sickness, provety, war or even overpopulated threats that is happening on he face of earth. Max (Matt Damon) wants to go on Elysium risking his whole life and his body to save himself from the depts of earth to save humanity and the citizens of earth will live peacefully on elysium knowing that Earth is wasted. Elysium wasn't Neil Blompkamp's best film because with all the bad exposition that is giving to the audience is lacklusting and to out of order for the audience to understand that one day Earth will become overpopulated with trash and human exsitance. All the acting is horrible but including Matt Damon in this sci-fi tale wasn't enough for me to see it because Matt Damon is a good actor but putting him on Elysium was miscasted and not playing much character in this film. The plot is thin but the cast is soild for what is. I mean you also got Sharlto Coppley (District 9) who is playing a complete cartoon character and also not having the charamisa from District 9 and of course Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs) who is just bad in this film. Elyisum is far from perfect of a post-apocalyptic future than a cheesy sci-fi film what you got is that there trying to make it like 12 Monkeys or something but this film may be flawless and stupid but the visuals and course looting for character development is just plain dumb.

This movie setting did remind me a lot of District 9. It was ok, I didn’t hate it. Wasn’t a 5 star for me though.

I love the visual effects. I can't stand the open borders political propaganda. I don't agree with everything he says but patriotic Americans need to start listening to Jared Taylor of American Renaissance.
