Season 1 was was where the show got established, while season 1 was good it wasn't great. Season 2 is where classic SG-1 starts. The show has matured a bit and is much more entertaining. The characters are continuing to improve and mature and also are becoming much more likable in the process. This show is nearly flawless from season 2 to season 7, after that the show is still good but doesn't capture the glory of the older days. I recomend this to any fan of Sci-fi at all. Recommended episodes: Gamekeeper, Tok'ra pts 1 and 2, and 1969 (one of the best SG-1 episodes.

This is a great show! Since this is one of the earlier seasons it is a lot different from the later ones and the characters are still getting comfortable with each other in this one but overall it is a great season. My top five episodes would be: 1.The fifth race 2.1969 3.Thor's chariot 4.Prisoners 5.Out of mind
  • Best SG-1 Season

Series 1 they were still figuring out how the characters and plotlines were working but by Season 2 everything had fallen into place. It is still my favourite of all the Stargate Seasons, mainly because of the Goa'uld/Jaffa/Tok'ra dynamic which we lost as the series progressed. As has been pointed out in other reviews, they were still very much interested in mythology and not just another "scifi" series at this point on SG-1 which I appreciate.

Due to my work schedule I have never been able to keep up with this show however after waiting for a long time to be able to see this show on i-tunes, here it is. I must say it was worth the wait and isn't it about time for season 3? I watched the first two seasons in just about a week... I literally couldn't stop watching it. Now they have canceled the show??? This show has been going strong for 10 years and I was hoping to one day catch up... I guess now I never will. Smooth move Sci-Fi. But please put the other seasons up soon!

Season 2 takes us to a place where fantasy lives strong. It also delves into the repressive nature of the Goa'uld. We are introduced to a different faction of Goa'uld society; good guys, so to speak. And Linea. We also get a glimps into just how the Goa'uld became so evil. "Need" displays this well. And who couldn't forget the 60's? lol. Yes, a fluke sent SG-1 into the late 60's. And a pivital moment in the series also occurrs: The first in-depth look at the "Ancients" and what they know. It's also where we see one of the characters meet another friend in person; a race who have watched over humans for many many centirues. Human nature is to be curious. And while this has been a major aspect of the show, it keeps you tuned in. While not everything goes as planned, SG-1 somehow finds a way to make it right! Stargate has been, for a long time, the antithesis of all the past sci-fi shows. Never did anyone think a sci-fi show, based entirely on the mythologies of Egyptian culture, could ever be a hit. Add in the fact it takes place in the modern era with all our modern technologies and you have a fun-loving show! Also, 98% of the elements involved with the show are based on fact. Stargate: SG-1 doesn't play you as a dumb lump of coal sitting in a recliner like most sci-fi shows did in the past. Stargate: SG-1 is a fun show that also makes you think. In a way, it's a 21st century Star Trek.... only better! This show amazes with every episode, and each episode.... yes, each and every episode...... leaves you wanting more moRE MORE!!!
