Description

The 6-part original short-based comedy series Portlandia is created, written by and starring Fred Armisen (SNL) Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney vocalist/guitarist). Each episode's character-based shorts draw viewers into Portlandia, the creators' dreamy and absurd rendering of Portland, Oregon. An assortment of guest stars inhabit Portlandia, including Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Sex & the City), Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), Selma Blair (Legally Blonde, Hellboy), Heather Graham (The Hangover), Edie McClurg (Ferris Bueller's Day Off), Kumail Nanjiani (Michael & Michael Have Issues), Jason Sudeikis (SNL, The Cleveland Show), and Gus Van Sant (Milk). Singer/songwriters Sarah McLachlan and Aimee Mann also guest star, alongside James Mercer (The Shins), and local Portland musicians Jenny Conlee and Colin Meloy (The Decemberists) and Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney).

    Best sketch comedy in a long time!!! Originally i watched it because of Fred Armisen, but these two go perfect together to create an absolutely fantastic show!!!

    We just finished a Portlandia Season 1 marathon online last weekend, and we cannot get enough of it. Actually, we should slow down because I have begun to look at dumpsters with a longing for watermelon. Aw! Such a relief to be able to stay tuned to this new season by finding episodes on iTunes! I am happy to pay for it and glad that I can count on it here. Carrie and Fred rock!

    I love how this show pokes fun at the smugness of Portland hipster culture without really being too mean spirited. Kudos to Fred & Carrie :) Looking forward to Season 2!

    I'm not even from the United States and I absolutely love this show. I simply love it, I can't stop laughing at every single absurd thing that happens. I'm so exited for the second season because some of my favorite SNL cast members are there! Keep up the good job guys!

    It's quirky and chalk full of portland inside jokes. I absolutely love it and can't wait for the second season. KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD!

    This show really takes a snapshot of what Portland is like. From the people who virtually live in a Stumptown Coffee Shop to the hippies hanging out in Pioneer Square, Portland is WEIRD. And we love it for that!

    I cannot begin to explain how much I love this show it's just sooo good but it kind of appeals to a certain kind of ppl it's very intelligent humor if you like this you will probably like the movie hot fuzz
