Description

The hit original comedy series Portlandia welcomes viewers back to Fred & Carrie's romanticized and dreamy rendering of Portland, OR for a second season. Starring Fred Armisen (SNL) and Carrie Brownstein (Wild Flag, Sleater-Kinney) as a variety of wonderfully eccentric characters. Some of Portlandia's most loved characters from season one return, including Portland's trusty but sometimes misguided Reggae bass playing Mayor (Kyle MacLachlan).

This show thinks it is so funny. I get one or two laughs when I watch but really it should only be 10 minutes long. I clearly understand it is mocking the pretentiousness of the PC - Portlandites but IT is pretensions in its approach and it's, "aren't we hip and funny," self conscious approach...actually, I think I hate it!
  • Absurd. Ridiculous. Funny.

I don't know how I missed this show before today - I did a mini-marathon of Season 1 yesterday because I couldn't stop watching. It's clever, creative and...ridiculous. I actually laughed. Kyle MacLachlan is ridiculous as the Mayor. Fred A and Carrie B are dry perfection. It is some weird absurd commentary on essentially the last 20 years of grunge, granola crunchy life...it does get a little insance occassionally but overall loove it...

I like the principals, the idea, but it comes across as cruel. The Portland reviewers who can't spell don't help the the show's case.
  • Carrie Bradshaw??

Hey Annika, this isn't sex in the city. It's Carrie Brownstein of Wild Flag and Sleater-Kinney fame, one of the great under appreciated guitarists of our time. And perfect comedic timing too. Who knew? Awesome show, so glad it was brought back for another season, can't wait for #3!
  • Kind of rediculous

i have lived in portland my entire life and this show just kind of over does it cuz yes there are many people like this but there are also alot of people here that are no where near like this. The show is funny but it makes us Portlanders seem rediculous

Season One had great, funny Portland-centric skits. Season Two has skits that were in the SNL trash bin, most could be set anywhere. Should have stopped at Season One.
  • All around great

Perfect mix of cinematography and humor. Almost as strange and beautiful as Portland.
