    "Pyramids Of Mars", quality wise, isn't on the top of the Doctor Who episode stack, but it's certainly enjoyable and interesting. This story is most notable for two things. First off, we are introduced to one of the Doctor's most dangerous opponents ever, in this case the all powerful Sutek. Sutek stands out as one of the most popular villains in the DW fanbase, as well as one of the Doctor's greatest foes. Second, we get one of the most iconic and best scenes from any Doctor Who serial: The apocalypse scene where the Doctor shows Sarah Jane a future in which they do not stop Sutek. It really brings you to understand that not only can the future change, but the Doctor truly is an important warrior of time. While I do have some problems with this story(such as the slow pacing and Sutek's silly looking 'true form'), overall "Pyramids Of Mars" is a very good saga of the Doctor, and should be watched by anyone who is a Whovian.

    'Pyramids of Mars' is one of the best Doctor Who serials in its original, nearly 30-year run. It is the peak of the kind of gothic horror of the Philip Hinchcliffe (producer), Robert Holmes (script editor) era. This is actually written by Robert Holmes and another author under the pseudonym "Stephen Harris". Tom Baker is at his peak, Elisabeth Sladen is as well. Don't buy if you want space opera and robots, (although there are robots, hmmm), but if you want a pretty creepy story featuring ancient Egypt, an English manor house in the early 20th-century, and some Egyptian archaeological investigations gone horribly wrong, then I recommend you try it.
