Doctor Who: The Aztecs

I love Doctor Who and Itunes charges why to much for these. This story is brilliant and I love the first Doctor.

Dear Itunes. I know that i speak for all my fellow whovians out there when i say that classic episodes of Doctor Who on itunes is a great idea! I am very excited and thrilled with the convenience and accessabily to these episodes that i now have, especially here in America. It doesn't really seem though, that this list of classic WHO serials has grown much. Please put some more classic episodes up, especially for the first Doctor, William Hartnell. I strongly beleive that whovians like me will purchase the episodes. We are asking for more!

Yes, this was "The First Doctor" and we get to meet his granddaugher Susan and her two teachers Ian and Barbara. In this episode you'll learn something about Barbara---she has a tendency to think she knows more than anyone else. A tendency we'll see repeated in companions to follow. Of course, Barbara has an excuse most of the others will not have. The Doctor's age is unknown at this time, Time Lords are unheard of, regeneration is unknown---all these will come later. (Regeneration will be introduced when William Hartnell leaves the series at the conclusion of the serial "The Tenth Planet"---most of which no longer exists so read the novel) and the Time Lords are introduced when Patrick Troughton *The Second Doctor) leaves the series in WAR GAMES (all of which is still intact). By the time "The Aztecs" aired the Daleks had already been introduced. They came with the second serial which was later made into a movie starring Peter Cushing as the Doctor. The story of the Daleks origin is very different before Tom Baker. Just to warn you. No Davros or any of that.

and maybe The Dalek Invasion of Earth; An Unearthly Child, maybe... but DEFINITELY THE ROMANS! Favorite Hartnell episode thus far.

The Aztecs episodes are the sixth series of the William Hartnell Dr Who. There are a total of 27 series with Hartnell sadly some have been lost or are incomplete. I do hope Apple is able to add in as many as possible to the iTunes library. Seeing Dr Who again from my youth brings back many fond memories.

An excellent episode from one of Doctor Who's very best Doctors. "The Aztecs" delves into the culture of the Aztecs and their society while exploring one of the founding principles of the series: History is forever static. Although Hartnell does as excellently as always, particular attention is payed to his companions in this serial, and they manage to flesh out the story brilliantly. Here's hoping that more of the original Doctors episodes, such as those introducing the Daleks, are brought to the iTunes store before long.
